Sutton Coldfield Town 1: 3 Kewford Eagles

21 May 2016 by Chris Tidman

A great game saw both sides play some excellent football in windy conditions. The first 20 saw SCT on top and it needed 2 saves of the highest quality from emergency keeper Call to keep the scores level. At the other end, a Kewford corner saw a header handled on the post and Ben slotted home the penalty. SCT then equalised with a shot that bounced just before the keeper and the loose ball was bundled home.
In the 2nd 20, Kewford got on top and could have scored more than the Chad corner that was curled straight in at the near post, which had been vacated by the run by Kyle.
In the 3rd 20, SCT came back strong but Kewford defended well.
In the last 20, Kewford dominated the play and went close with a Chad shot tipped off before TJ capped off a fine debut game with a spin on the edge of the box and a chip over the keeper into the roof of the net.
Well done to both teams – a great advert for Midlands football
